The rainforest is essential to maintain biodiversity and to store CO2. Not for nothing that rainforests are called the lungs of the Earth. The best way to protect it, is to buy areas of rainforest yourself and keep it out of the economic traffic and manage it. Oasebos is committed to combating deforestation and preservation of the rainforest in Costa Rica. The foundation chose Costa Rica because the country is home to no less than 5% of the total world’s biodiversity.
We share this planet with majestic animals, such as elephants, rhinos and tigers. WWF wants to ensure that we protect and restore these iconic animals and their habitats. Over the past decades, WWF has grown into a worldwide network of conservationists, local people, governments, businesses, donors and volunteers. People with the same passion for nature and the willpower to protect it. And who jointly have the same challenging mission: to work on a world in which people live in harmony with nature.
Water for life
Water is an essential element to life on Earth. Yet, there are many places in the world where clean water is not a given. The foundation Water For Life is an initiative started by Dutch drinkwater companies Vitens, Evides Waterbedrijf, Waterbedrijf Groningen, WML and PWN. Together they aim to realize sustainable access to drinking water and a toilet where these basic needs are not a given. They accomplish this by closely working together with local water companies and start projects set up of sustainable access to drinking water and sanitation for third world countries. They reached over 1.5 million people with their projects throughout the world.
